Oh my word! What a dramatic time at the Firefly litter!

Firstly, foster mom Shelly heard that one of her previous fosters, Sweetpea, had been returned to the shelter. This one was from Shelly's last litter and the kitten was therefore only about five months old. She was determined to pick the kitten up from the shelter and bring home for at least a night where it could be somewhere familiar, with someone familiar.

But then she heard that there was an orphaned litter of five kittens of about a week old that needed to be either bottle fed or put with a willing momma cat. So she brought them home to see if Firefly would comply.

Firefly has been a bit growly - probably because there is so much happening, but she has been keeping a close eye on the new kittens and has even fed them. Shelly has been bottle feeding them all night too and, if Firefly hasn't completely accepted them by the morning, they'll have to go back to the shelter for individual care.

Obviously, the ideal thing would be for Firefly to adopt them - so fingers crossed.

Oh that poor girl, just when she thought it was safe to get spayed, they land another lot on her.

Shelley is amazing, like John. Her financé must be a saint!!

I saw Sweetpea on their FB page, and he looks adorable. Do we know why he was returned?

It doesn't look like Firefly is going to oblige and who can blame her?

LAPS, the shelter apparently don't ask too many questions as they consider they would rather have people bring them unwanted cats or kittens than have them dump them.

There was a comment that Sweetpea was afraid of the man in the house he went to. Shelly said that he certainly didn't leave her care afraid of men. :?

I think Sylvester is my favourite, but Taz is just sooo cute. They should make Taz teddybears! :D

But they are all adorable and Hazel is such a playful momma and a bit mental - which is good in a cat.

A bit sad today.

Just read on FB that today is Firefly's last day with her kittehs.

They all go on to be spayed/neutered/adopted.

Such a beautiful bunch of babies. I hope they get adopted in pairs.

Isn't spayed the same as being neutered?

You spay girls, you neuter boys.

Don't ask. I haven't a clue.
