Twitter poetry

Postby Square12 » Sat Apr 13, 2013 11:07 pm

I have opened a twitter account so that I could complete all the achievements on the discworld app, BUT have decided to keep it and try writing at least one poem a week, obv the challenge lies in sticking to the character limits! If anyone wants to follow my username there is square12_ had to add the underscore cos both square12 and square_12 were taken
If you can fill the unforgiving minute,
With sixty seconds worth of distance run,
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And - which is more - you'll be a man my son.

Now that's what I call a challenge - your first effort is very appropriate.

Thank you
If you can fill the unforgiving minute,
With sixty seconds worth of distance run,

And - which is more - you'll be a man my son.

I tried putting your moniker into Twitter Search, and I blush at one of the offerings it gave.
Some are born great, some achieve greatness and some have greatness thrust upon them.

The rest of us are a bit crap.

No, the one I started with was just about the constraints of space in a twee
If you can fill the unforgiving minute,
With sixty seconds worth of distance run,
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And - which is more - you'll be a man my son.

And by second one is now up, and copied below:

Poem two
What to do?
Choose a word,
That I've heard
Choose a second
That is reckoned
To sound akin
That's the thing
If you can fill the unforgiving minute,
With sixty seconds worth of distance run,
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And - which is more - you'll be a man my son.

I put his Twitter name into the search, and it came up with a load of really odd stuff, and one porn one!

As requested my latest three:

6 days ago:
R.I.P.
the Boston three
It saddens me
Especially
The eight year old.

5 days ago:
Watching Fry,
On QI,
Makes me glad,
When I'm sad.

2 days ago:
Sitting bored,
So I stored,
All my thoughts
In ones and noughts.
If you can fill the unforgiving minute,
With sixty seconds worth of distance run,
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And - which is more - you'll be a man my son.
