Durufle was a bit of a perfectionist so only wrote about a dozen works that he let be published and that is easily his best known, I also have his 4 Motets on Gregorian Themes

Total change this morning Alban Berg's violin concerto played by Itzhak Perlman and the Boston Symphony Orchestra conducted by Seiji Ozawa



The album also has on the B side the same combination playing Stravinskys violin concerto



Just what I needed to get me fully awake this morning. :D

It's been a night of Bartok piano works, his original opus 1 written for a Paris competition and all three piano concertos ending with his final work the concerto no 3 which he had not quite finished orchestrating when he died. This is played by Vladimir Ashkenazy with the London Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Sir Georg Solti recorded in 1979
