Big fan of Marillon seen them live but I still prefer Fish he was a brilliant frontman and showman, with songs like Assassin, Market Square hero's and Heart of Midlothian and too many more to list.

Marillion after Fish is different but still great and their gigs are still amazing. I've seen Marillion live in 2003 at one of their 'conventions' when they broke the world record for recording a DVD one evening and then having it on sale before the end of the weekend.

I like Fish as well, got most of his solo stuff. Seen him live in Haddington (his home town) in 2001 (and at other times as well). I don't think his voice has weathered quite as well as some, but it's still good and the passion and the lyrics are still there.

Here's a couple from his latest album.

A relatively unknown band from around High Wycombe way - JUMP

this song is about the Welsh slate quarry men and the dangerous job of setting the charges by hand.

Blind Guardian - And then there was silence
Epic (hah) song about the Trojan war.

The war and siege of Troy lasted for 10 years - the song is not quite as long, but it IS a long song. More of a mini opera (with "normal" vocals, though)

One of my new favorite songs:

I've not seen these instruments before. They are called a Hang apparently and made in Switzerland by PANart. I just love the sound.
