I used to do something similar for my nephew when he was younger. It was fun seeing his face in the morning :D

When my daughter was a toddler she had a Big Builder construction kit. Every night when she was asleep I would build something different and involve her other toys so she would find something new in the morning. Then we would dismantle it all and put it away before bedtime.
Shame that kind of tactic doesn't get her out of bed nowadays :cry:
