Awww Jan, so sorry to hear that
We buried Murph yesterday.
I'm wondering how it might affect our other little mutt, Hobo. They were together all the time, absolute buddies, never a moment's aggro between them. At the moment, Hobo just seems slightly confused, but otherwise normal. When he goes out in the yard, he just sits there looking around. Usually he's running about, barking at birds or whatever. In fact, he hasn't barked at all since Murph died, which is very unusual. I'm not going to anthropomorphize (spelling?) or anything, I'll just keep an eye on him.
In the beginning there was nothing, and then it exploded.

Sorry to hear about Xena Jan, especially after all you did for her. :(

I have a jippy tummy. I've eaten curry twice today & I'm currently chewing antacid tablets. I'll never learn, but it's so delicious!

Because those two things often go together?

Had a fire in one of the apartments at the other end of my building. Went out on my balcony for a smoke and smelled something. didn't think anything of it at first. figured it was just a brushfire. but then starting seeing smoke rolling and getting thicker so i went out my front door and around to the outside and saw it coming from the back corner of the building. So I ran over there.

You could see the fire coming out the door of the apt on the second floor into the hallway, the lights in the ceiling blowing out. a few people were on the phone with 911. so me and a couple other guys ran down and started banging on doors to let people know, get them out. Then this other guy, Ken, and I grabbed extinguishers and started trying to put it out. but we couldn't even get in the door. plus they would only last like 10 seconds. we'd push it back through the door way but would run out and it would come back instantly and we'd have to run to find more. we stopped when the fire dept arrived. let them take over. then all we could do was watch.

No one was hurt. thankfully.

so that was my fun for the night.

In hindsight i probably should have put shoes on before running over there. lol
