Wow! Very cool Dug. The lines on the horizon are so distinct, it looks like you have a big storm cloud overhead.

It's blown up more than once, roughly every 700,000 years for the 'super volcanoes' (these being 2.1 million years ago, 1.3 million years ago, and the last being 640,000 years ago) with a few other 'minor' eruptions in between (the last being around 70,000 years ago). THIS SITE has quite a bit of interesting information on the subject.

Excellent pictures, btw, Susanne and Dug. :D

I just realized that I haven't mooned anyone lately so here goes;

This was taken hand held on my new lens at 500mm and 1/640th second shutter speed. (It's also been cropped a bit.)
