I've finally managed to sort out my pictures for our exhibition although I still have twenty or so prints to be mounted and should be collecting them later this week. My part should consist of twelve photos and will be sold for £20 each as a limited edition of ten (I thought advertising them as a rarity might entice buyers). I intend to have the twelve pics hanging on show and the others in plastic covers in a box for buyers to just lift out and take to the check out. Just to be on the safe side, I'm only printing and mounting a few of each at this time although I have left myself an option to add more or change them completely as the exhibition goes on. I've also deliberately not titled the front of the picture so buyers can make up their own titles, although I have named them on the back with some provenance about where the photo was taken and some of my thoughts on it. They are all 40cm x 50cm and are a standard size for framing.
I must confess to being a little nervous about it all now since this is my first effort to properly do such a thing. I saw inside the venue for the first time today (my friend has been doing all the booking and organizing) and didn't realize just how big it is. The place is an old church that is now used as a coffee shop and is known for putting on art exhibitions (I think ours is the first time that it is being used for a photography exhibition) as well as live events. The arrangements are for the coffee tables to be set along the walls around the outside and our exhibition to be slap bang in the middle of the floor!
