What do you love MOST about the forum?

What makes this the happy place it is, is the all the good kind of craziness that makes you look around at the other nutters and realize, "Aha! So it's NOT just me!".

Exactly that! I don't always have the time to post, but I always drop in and look around. There is so much good humour and plain old fashioned nice-ness on here. You can't help but be cheered. up. And when you are down or have problems people will PM you and send you things........that alone restores your faith in humanity.

There's only one other forum I know that tries as hard to be nice and that The Late Bay forum for VW camper addicts.......which is filled with a completely different set of nutters with mechanical knowledge and advice

The Good thing here is that people aren't trying to be nice, they just naturally are!

Mind you ... I have sometimes been called 'Trying' ...

I had been on a few forums before,but only very shortly,because there were so many rules,written and unwritten,and everybody seemed to be far too serious for me.Then I found this one purely by chance,because I was looking for Pterry books,and watched from outside for a while because I was a bit shy...no,really!

And after having come in,so to speak,found myself so much at home,so many lovely,kind and intelligent people,such a friendly warm atmosphere and such fun and games that I truly don't think I ever want to go anywhere else ever again.
It's really like extended family,everyone feels comfy,there's a bit of bickering going on at the side,there's one or two mad aunts and the usual jovial,constantly slightly intoxicated uncles and so on.You send christmas cards and care for one another.If someone's sad,everybody listens and cares,if someone's happy,everyone enjoys the good luck.What could be more like home? I don't know how i could have borne the last year if it hadn't been for you all.Thank you!

I think the best thing about this site is that most of the people here actually care about the others which is definitely not the case in a lot of forums. Broc sums it up really well, can I be one of the "usual jovial,constantly slightly intoxicated uncles", I think I can happily live with that description

uuuum... sane.... ummm is there a term for keeping someone who is not quite sane from not becoming totally insane but just a bit more than sane.... is there a scale????

Anyway... its all a big kind of circle... one of those silly things they do at corporate things where you stand in a circle and you fall like dominos and everyone catches the other person.....

Having said that... I know FULL WELL there are those of you here who would NOT catch the person in front just because it would be the best joke EVER... AND that the rest of you would piss themselves laughing at that one too....

but you would say sorry in between the laughter... and make sure they were alright... then laugh about it for a year.
