Well seems us irish should hang our head in shame as our police force seemed to head around kidknapping any Roma child who was blond on the back of the greek incident , whether the parents had documents or not.
Thankfully all the children involved have been returned to their families and hopefully the police involved will be pulled up properly on it.

Kneejerk reaction, but part of me can't blame them.

And that's the worrying part.

But if they'd done nothing, and it had subsequently turned out she'd been kidnapped/bought/whatever, the poor cops would never hear the end of it.

Mind you, now they'll probably be sued by the family.

In one of the cases they had everything completely in order in terms of birthcerts passports and the likes and even showed the police a picture of the blond grandfather. Hospital records backed them up and they still took the child. The father and mother immediately presented themselves at the police station and offered DNA samples.
I reckon they might have a very strong case against the police there.
