Snow flurries this morning, but bright and sunny the rest of the day, temps in the 40s F, light winds. Perfect birding day. :D Anticipating a quarter inch of snow on Friday, which will snarl traffic  , so am already scheming to bring work home. 8-)

It's pouring with rain here and blowing a gale. Still at least it might discourage the Morris Men. :D I don't mind them normally but there are usually 8 sides here on New Years Day and they go on for about 4 hours outside the shop

There is a pub next door but one to my place, I have a suspicion this may influence their choice of venue ;)

Edit:
They were only here for an hour and have now gone to somewhere drier, in an effort to reduce the towns alcohol supply
One of those? Oh I'm sure I have one somewhere..

Had a very messy trip to and from the airport last night to pick my sister up. It was slow going, but we made it! It's still coming down this morning.

Miserable day, not a nice start to a new year. :(

It's gonna be -18c and feel like -28c for the next day or so.

And the snow is STILL coming down. Hasn't stopped all day, the roads are treacherous. Thankfully we don't have to go anywhere. Hubby is back to work tomorrow, but he can work from home.

STILL snowing! And bitterly cold. Thinking about taking the girls sledding, but we might freeze solid.

Just read on the BBC website that they've forecast more torrential rain and high winds and tides.

I went out to chop some kindling (wood, not reading matter) and the sun was shining from a blue sky. Shortly afterwards, it began to rain..... from the same blue sky :?
The shipping forecast has been warning of gales in all areas for weeks now :x

We're probably getting the same system.

Probably. It's supposed to warm up a little for a couple of days, but we'll still get more snow. Then the temps drop again.
