Left at 4pm or thereabouts, as the timetable thingy was showing every other train as cancelled.

Got the 4.22pm.

TWO CARRIAGES ONLY.

It was, as the driver announced, somewhat "cosy".

Showing my 'snow' ignorance here... but if so many trains were cancelled wouldn't there be a lot MORE people to get home? Why only two carriages?

Oh and glad you got home okay Bouncy.

You are quite right Del and have just hit upon one of the most frustrating idiosyncrasies of the British public transport system (especially the railways). I use the buses now as they are more reliable and cheaper for me getting into work on time. :D

I think that what happened was....... loads of trains were breaking down during the morning rush hour, causing delays to services behind, and cancellations.

I think that they managed to divide the trains so that the working part could still remain in service, albeit only 2 carriages, while the broken down bit was dragged to the sidings/repair shop.

It's still mucked up this morning.

Those cars sliding down the street are scaring me. Does that happen all the time when it snows? Or just on really bad days. :?

Just when there is ice underneath the snow, if you live in a hilly part it happens quite a lot in the winter up here in Scotland or the North of England, if you think that's bad try it on two wheels.

They don't put that stuff on the tourist sites. That's bloody hellish.

As for the weather here, the words 'cats & dogs' spring to mind. Which is good, very good.

Very good for you, I should say.

Pity it can't deluge all over Oz.

-22C this morning. It's been like this all week.
