HELLOOO!!!
Just for curiosity, lets talk about music, what kind of music do you like...or don't like? In that way we can know ourselfes better :D
The music you hear tells how you are. In my case I LOVE three women, ENYA, my favorite singer; LOREENA MCKENNITT, another favorite singer; and SARAH BRIGHTMAN, she is a favorite singer too. I also like Vangelis...

I'm a bit Classical Music fan - lots of different types, but I especially like huge choral pieces. My favourite composer is Ralph Vaughan Williams. :D

I can never pin point actual favorites as what I'm listening too depends on my mood
I had seminars all weekend so I listened to Portishead before hand to chill me out and Linkin Park on the way home to wake me back up!
I'm listening to the soundtrack from 'Twlight' now as it's good back round music to study to .
I like the Pixies, Doors , Nirvana, Evanesence and probably a thousand others and I love Classical especially powerful pieces that have you 'air conducting'
There again I'm quite patial to a bit of Justin Timberlake and Beyonce
I chop and change all the time so maybe all that says about me is I'm a bit indecisive :D

That'd be eclectic, not indecisive. ;0)

I will listen to anything EXCEPT country and rap.
I hate (what passes for) country music with all of my being.
What happened to Willie Nelson and where is he now?

You want "big," all encompassing music that isn't opera (which I love) and has a beat?
Give a listen to Meatloaf. He recorded a duet w/ Pavarotti that's fantastic and if that doesn't sell you, try the songs "Original Sin" and "For Crying Out Loud."

Meatloaf? I loved the Bat out of Hell album when I was 17!
Why didn't you include Total Eclipse of the Heart? It was written by the same guy that wrote Bat out of Hell. Very encompassing!

How about this;

Who do I like?
I'm a late 50's/60's/70's person. I like most of the pop from those era's.
I like odd songs from modern stuff too. Coldplay Yellow, etc.
But, my old time favourite artist was John Denver. I met him once in Bournemouth, he shook my hand. ((swoon)) 8)
Best wishes,
Tiff

I love the wedding present. I've spoken to (& had a reply from) David Gedge three times. *sigh*

I also like various 90's indie bands, & a bit of heavier stuff. Don't really like pop music, but it gets put on the radio at work & I don't mind it.
What's up with this glass? Excuse me? Excuse me? This is my glass? I don't think so. My glass was full! And it was a bigger glass!

Tiffany

Have you got the 8 track, cassette, beta max and 78 rpm too?

Mind you, I'd rather listen to Annie's Song than country and western.

Did you know that C&W music causes more fights than any other kind of music?

"Oh my dog died, and my baby left me for a cowboy" Grrr! I wanna hit someone!!

Dotsie

Everyone says you look daft!..............................................................
was a brill song. I love The George best album!

This isn't an easy question for me.:? I enjoy instrumental music, often feeling that a singer is superfluous to a good tune and I like my music to be 'tuneful' with clever harmonies. I enjoy classical music from the 'Great' composers. Handel, Mozart, Vivaldi and Haydn among my favourites. I'm not an opera fan for the reason above, great tunes ruined by some fat bird shouting :D. Now when I'm in the right mood I can enjoy some of the great Rock groups. The Rolling Stones and Queen are great and, yes, I know they sing. Are The Wurzels Country and Western? Whatever, they're real 'party down the pub' stuff as are some of the old 60's groups from my youth.

I HATE RAP!:x

I think my all time favourites are 'Sky' with the great John Williams. They play such a variety of music, from their lovely adaptations of classical pieces to the lovely gentle humour of Tuba Smarties with Herbie Flowers and original compositions like Westway, every thing they did was masterful and beautiful. :)
I think the answer lies in the soil, ooo arrr!
