Welcome to the site, Fiona! :)

I know a group of the posters here have been working on the idea of a Discworld based Tarot deck (Caroc) as well as a standard pack of cards for Cripple Mr Onion.

From what I remember about Hilta, Granny didn't approve of the way she dressed. Although a lot of Hilta's dress - a witch with all the trimmings - was what Granny would call Headology. That is - if you go to someone who looks like a witch for a cure or to have your fortune told, you are more likely to believe in it.

Welcome to the forum Fiona, if you had come down to Wincanton for Hogwatch I'm sure you would have got lots of ideas.

Hi there and welcome Fiona :D

There's a lady who's been to the past 2 English cons (and was at the Irish one last month as well) who's sort of got a Hilta costume - she carries this beautiful goat-headed wooden staff and wears this amazing redhead wig with a kind of shambles in it. There's probably a picture of her from one of the convention-style events as she's generally on gopher or watch duty - this a kind of neat goatherder nomad 8-)

If you want a look at the fan Caroc project that starts HERE - and the minor caroc pip designs are shown on the 1st page, 2nd post. The deck's based on the Cripple Mr. Onion game in Witches Abroad and the last Discworld Companion (Turtle Recall) which lists the definitive 13 card major arcana ;)

Welcome, V4P. Jump in an embrace the madness!
