Help with English!

Postby Bouncy Castle » Mon Nov 12, 2012 3:07 pm

No. Don't snigger!

My boss just asked me a question:

If more that one Mr is Messrs, what's the word for more than one Mrs?

Context: He's writing a set of Minutes, and doesn't what to have to say "Mrs Brown, Mrs Green, Mrs White, Mrs Black all had their level of grant continued at the same rate..."

Is there such a word for more than one Mrs?
Some are born great, some achieve greatness and some have greatness thrust upon them.

The rest of us are a bit crap.

What about the Mistresses, Mrs is an abbreviation of that word.

The plural of Mrs. is Mesdames. Or you can abbreviate it to Mmes.

What's up with this glass? Excuse me? Excuse me? This is my glass? I don't think so. My glass was full! And it was a bigger glass!

"The mistresses all had their level of grant continued at the same rate..." :D

Can he add my name to the list? I'd quite like a grant too :)

He could do as the sentence says they "all had their level of grant continued at the same rate..." As your grant is currently zero, it would be perfectly true to add you to the list ;)
One of those? Oh I'm sure I have one somewhere..

Agree with chris and Dotsie.

Medusa. As in, Medusas Brown, Green, White, Black.

I think he'd get away with that.
