Want a UK uncorrected proof of Guards Guards!?

In the next few days one will be appearing on ebay. There will be a reserve price on it probably of approx 350-400 pounds. It's way too expensive for me, but somebody reading this may want it badly enough. (I reckon it will probably be unsold with the highest bid being about 285 pounds)

The guy selling it also has uncorrected proofs of Sourcery, Pyramids and 60 other collectable TP FEs etc, but he is living in cloud cuckoo land re prices.

I know this coz after two weeks of haggling I bought UK proofs of Jingo and Hogfather from him.

If you want a specific book or more info send me a pm coz I've got a full list of what he's selling.

I think you're right about the reserve. I certainly wouldn't pay that sort of money even if I could afford to. :?

Thanks for the thread Poohbcarrot

I am that collector, who has 1sts and proofs for sale. After collecting for the last 18 years , its time to thin out my collection.

Pricing books is very difficult, as some desire certain things more than others.

I agree that picking up good bargains is unbeatable and very satisfying, but unfortunatly not always possible.

if you are interested in a specific 1st or proof, then send me a PM.

Wow! I'll bet you have some great books! Pricing can be very hard. The best you can do is price something for what you'd be willing to part with it for. If it sells, great! If it doesn't sell, you can either decide it's not worth parting with now, or reconsider what you want for it. I try to look at it as win/win.

Speaking of bargains, how about this uncorrected proof which ended 2 minutes ago?

Yo Chapelboy dude!

If you're going to sell anything on ebay, start it at 1p and pm me your reserve price. I'll bid up to the reserve price and you'll save money on your listing. :)
