The old Rankin forum site has been going since 2006 (or thereabouts) hence the high numbers of articles published, so stats yet again can say what you like.

Anyway this isn't a competition to see who's best or most popular, but the similarities in the writing styles (isn't it?).

I can't comment, but Terry obviously like Rankin's books which is a huge compliment in itself. He's obviously a well-read chap and I would imagine that reading a book by someone other than yourself is something of pleasure for an author - after all you know what's coming next in your own work don't you?

No I'm not!

I read the two books in question years ago. It was only two days ago that I discovered the original first editions had Josh Kirby covers, that's why I started this thread!

Anyway, I think the titles are funny and just another of his running gags. How can anyone NOT want to read a book called "The hollow chocolate bunnies of the apocalypse" or "Sex and drugs and sausage rolls" or "Nostradamus ate my hamster" ?:lol:

The first one I read was "Web Site Story" and the only reason I bought it in the first place, was because on the front of the book was the Terry Pratchett endorsement.

Oh I'd certainly recommend him to people (and have). Yes I've read about three or four of his books - some were pretty good and at least one (The Antipope I think) I didn't find particularly funny at all.

Would I go out of my way to read his books? Probably not - but if I saw one in a charity shop for less than a Pound, I'd probably buy it and read it. :P
