Hogswatch will be on Saturday 24th November this year as it is always celebrated the last weekend of November.
So all Secret Hogfather gifts will need to arrive before November 24th.
If you haven’t taken part in this before, let me explain it to you.
If you are interested in buying or making a Hogswatch gift for another forum member, post on this thread to show your interest and whether you are able to post locally (to you) or overseas.
I will make a list and ask you to email your home address to me at
then I will match you up with another forum member and let you know what address you have to send the gift to.We’ll have a cut off date for registering for this of October 15th. Once you have the address of your gift recipient, then get it posted to them as soon as you can making sure it arrives before Hogswatch Day.
The person you send to will NOT be the person who sends a gift to you and it’s kind of fun to keep your identity secret – or as secret as possible.
In previous years we allowed newbies to take part and we had one problem of a newbie who got a gift but didn’t send one in return. I know that newbies come and go, and to save disappointment this year as last year, I’m going to say that you can only take part if you have a post count of 50 or over. That at least shows that you have a certain commitment to staying on the board. If you haven’t hit that 50 post mark yet, don’t worry too much as you’ve got until 15th October to register – so you still have time to reach that target.
The gifts should cost around £5, but that very much depends on you. If you are mailing overseas then bear in mind how much postage is likely to cost.
For now though, post here if you are interested in joining in and I’ll start making a list.
