I don't seem to understand.
Don't you get paid while you're off work for medical reasons?

Just feign fainting on the floor and have someone call an ambulance. They take you in and do the surgery right away!!

It depends on the employer of course, but in the building trade you tend to get paid for what you work. When Mr Dotsie was on the trowel I had all on trying to get him to take a holiday

Chris that's awful. :( Really sorry they've done this to you. Hope your mom's phone call helps!

That's really bad Chris. Hope you can get put to the top of the list soon.

The NHS is a wonderful thing.......it's just the people that run it aren't always as good ;)

We've had to take issue on a couple of things for my sons treatment. We found the only way to get somewhere was to write a letter of complaint to everyone......and I mean everyone!

The manager of the Primary Care Trust, the Parliamentary & Health Service Ombudsman, our MP, the Health secretary, the PM......and probably a few others!

It might have been over the top, but we eventually got what they said was impossible when we initally contacted them!

The power of an upset parent!

Can't imagine how they'd treat a "real" emergency.

Bugger!

Sorry to hear about the op chris...

I agree that I love the NHS (our version of free medical care here) but when you are on a list it can be terrible.

One of our local papers has taken up the locals on the list here.... one a week.... pressuring the medical lists for one person a week and publishing their story to hype it up.... they have a 100% success rate at the moment. Not great but helping those who really really need it.

Trouble with the NHS over here, Del, is that they will try and save expenditure by cutting nursing or doctoring staff, but you can bet your sweet Bippy that the "management" in every Hospital Trust is taking home at least £100,000 per year.

And should any of the buggers be found to be doing wrong, they get a HUGE payoff.
