OK this needs an explanation. Duck balancing was invented by Tina Hannan who was one of the co-authors of The Discworld Cookbook and was actually the one who cooked all the recipes. She has balanced ducks on many people over the years including Terry. When Pat Harkin entered the Maskarade event distributing ducks Sjoerd caught one and later on in the bar I explained duck balancing to them. The duck subsequently has appeared in many of their photographs as a theme of convention. I think Mc has him now assuming he survived the luggage saga.

of course it can get out of hand

And here I assumed the correct response should have been: "What duck?" ;) :lol:
Be careful what you wish for as you just might get it.

Jan - you're welcome, I'm glad I could help :)
I think my dad has some pics of death - we were standing behind them in the queue for photos.
I can't believe they made the costume themselves! It's amazing - although death with a packet of fruit pastilles sticking out of his neck area is one of the stranges things I have seen :P
I shall try and post them tomorrow.
And I'm really sorry for being finicky but my real name is Louisa rather than Louise, sorry small difference I know... :oops:
I had a great time and it was lovely to meet everyone - I'm sorry that I didn't get to see some of you, but it's an excuse to go back at least ;)

Finally finished the pics for day two and will start work on the rest soon. Sorry it's taking so long but my shift patterns the last three days have left me little time for anything other than sleep and work (not much time for sleep either, to be honest). This one covers the Guest Signing, Strangely Fascinating, and Masquerade events. :D

By the way, apparently the panellists for SF were sent along to us and weren't told anything about what the event was about so they had to do everything on the fly and off the cuff (Jacqueline hadn't even seen the tv show that SF was based on). It says something for the immense talent involved that the audience laughter could be heard next door in the dining room, being also remarked upon by Sir Terry himself who was eating at the time.

Anyway, enough rambling, here's the pics;

Those are excellent Penners! :D

Seriously, I was looking at some on the CA board and one person posted thousands! None of them were labelled and lots were badly taken and very similar. I got fed up of looking at them halfway through thhe "Friday" pictures.

Your's on the other hand are interesting, labelled, well composed and there are not so many that you think a slideshow is never going to end. :lol:

Well done sir! :clap:
