Quite amazing how totally wrong most of these predictions were. Of course, someone who focus on the few that have come true and treat the writer as the "SF Nostradamus."

What always surprises me is the amount of stuff from Star Trek (original series) that has become commonplace today.

I would have liked to have see Neal Stephenson's reply in there as well, as soon of what he wrote about in Snowcrash has turned out to be not far from the truth.

There was a series on SBS (TV) here recently. Each programme dealt with one SF author and how their work translated into modern day as it is now. (Obviously no fantasy writers included). Alot of them were remarkably accurate.

What none of them saw was the web, social media and the "gamer" trends. But then none of them saw just how fast, powerful and compact computers would become. To be fair... neither did most scientists before it was done.
