I only do canon - 
The Battle of the Hornburg (Helm's Deep) in the Jackson Trilogy was a travesty anyway - definitely NO Elves whatsoever there (except Legolas) and although I'll grant them the 'bomb' it was the Ents and Huorns that did most of the Orc/Uruk-hai extermination... so there!
