I use that King of Shaves oil on my mug first, then Gillette Fusion Hydagel for tough beards and a Gillette mach 3 turbo fusionpower razor. Never had a closer shave. Makes me look 20 years younger.......

I just use an electric - but I can see why you wouldn't, as it's a right pain to get a smooth shave -.-

My dear departed Dad ended up growing a beard as he said the care staff where he lived were so enthusiastic they would shave off tomorrow's whiskers as well as today's. As I have an irrational fear of sharp blades i'm afraid i couldn't be much help. Luckily I've never been very hairy and am even less so as time and thyroid imbalances kick in.

Shaving? I remember that vaguely, I have an electric beard trimmer to keep my facial hair fairly neat and then get them to trim it down nice and short when I go for a haircut

When I was a kid my father ran out of shaving foam and used Johnson's baby lotion instead. He never used anything other than that again

Two or three times a year I cut my own hair, beard included with some braun clippers - a 3mill all over seems to do the trick - I figure it saves me over a grand a year: not that I used to spend that much getting my hair cut, but I reckon if you're not going to get your hair cut at a hairdressers you might as well not get it cut by Vidal Sassoon as not get it cut by Carlos the scissors at the local barber shop...
