I'm surprised it's only at a squillion. :|

Seriously, I'll never look at that Jim'll Fix It sketch on the Doctor Who: The Two Doctors DVD in the same way ever again.

I know. I used to love Jim'll Fix It when I was a kid.

Gives me the shivers now, just looking at his face.

His face always gave me the shivers! I never liked him.

I can understand how a few victims were too intimidated to report him, but I'm struggling to understand how not one person out of hundreds of victims didn't have the courage to report him officially?

I think some did, but the Police didn't investigate, or if they did, they just warned Savile to stop being alone with young kids.

He obviously took a lot of notice of them.

Sadly its the same old story. There were numerous reports but they were all ignored .

There were rumours about Savile even in the early 60s. I can recall he visited the town where i lived (in the mid-60s?) becaus his mother had been born there/lived there for a time or somesuch......any road.....and a family friend, who was a pro photographer, got to ride in the Savile Rolls-Royce as a perk for taking pics for the local paper. As Arthur was in his 50s and no looker I guess he was safe enough but remarks were quietly voiced to the effect that no sensible parent should allow their daughter to go in the car.
Savile was a sexual predator who must have chosen his victims carefully, swerving away if he met with any resistance and using his celebrity status as a lure. Whether we understand it or not, it's a fact that celebrity + money = power, and Savile's general lack of attractiveness would be easily overlooked by a certain type of youngster. He would not need to threaten most of them not to tell since his status in their eyes would be such that he could get away with just telling them they would not be believed.
The man was a sick mess psychologically. He worshipped his mother (and quite possibly detested her too) and never entered a relationship with anyone. Worth watching the Louis Theroux documantary about Savile if you can bear it. I watched when it was first shown and it made my skin crawl

I watched some of it on YouTube the other week, and was appalled.

I got the impression that Theroux would rather have been anywhere else for most of it

I can't believe Starr is guilty.

There hasn't ever been any rumours about him, apart from this one accusation, and a sexual predator would not stop at only one 'victim'.
How many of these accusers will be after 15 minutes of fame and a pay out??

Maybe she got turned down and it has stuck in her craw so to speak, and just doing it out of bitterness also for the money.

F**k me with a pogo stick, sideways! This guy was more comfortable with Phelps than with Jimmy Savile?
