Can't read the poetry, I don't want to cry.
Lovely pictures of Danny too.
John actually took Harlow to a highly recommended obedience camp up north, twice. I'm not sure if these stories happened during one visit or over both. She did a lot of escaping. The first time just from the grounds. The second time from a kennel. The third time from a reinforced kennel. During one of these escapes, she went out on the iced over pond. It was too thin for them to follow her out and they were terrified she was going to fall through and drown. She didn't. But, while she was out there she did kill two of their pet geese. She had to be kept inside with people because she disrupted the obedience classes and the other dogs couldn't learn.
Being with people was exactly what she wanted anyway. Both times the person who runs the camp only charged John for room and board because, "I couldn't teach her anything." When John picked her up the second time, he joked that maybe 3rd time would be a charm. I guess the guy just shook his head and quietly, but firmly, said, "No." Harlow was not welcome back to camp. When he took her to a vet that specializes in behavioral problems, she was absolutely floored that the obedience guy couldn't train her. She said he never failed.
