Just a small point thats been worrying me a bit here......

I just put my mixed game (venison, pheasant, pigeon, rabbit, partridge, mallard duck) into the slow cooker. At around six o'clock tonight the whole lot is going to be chucked into a pie casing and then served with taters, peas, and carrots

Not SAYING anything...... just.... you know......

Next time he says "I was out walking this afternoon and took some great shots of these ducks...."

Love that first pic Dug...but I think my forced absence from the Internet due to lousy broadband playing up has had a bizarre effect on me...I swear that reflection of one of those birds looks like a cat!!

Del, there is nothing wrong with your rear garden from what I can see. BTW,The duck in the picture is a Mandarin duck whereas I had Mallard duck in my pie, served with a rosemary and thyme gravy; Mandarin duck should be served with plum or soy sauce.
