The year in pictures (2012)

I promise I didn't bring home all those tiny shells. We did find bigger ones. Not huge, the biggest is probably about 4". I'm so mad at myself though. When I cleaned them up I completely forgot about this small, perfect little sand dollar I found. I wasn't careful enough and it's all busted up now.

Fountain monument in Antwerp and Antwerp cathedral in background. The fountain depicts the local legend of Brabo who cut off the hand of a Russian giant. The giant would cut off the hands of sailors who refused to hand over half of their cargo to him as a toll for passing through Antwerp. This was Brabo's revenge; and the fountain shows him throwing the hand into the sea.

Thanks Catch-up. My boyfriend bought me a good camera for my birthday last year but I'm still learning how to use it.These were just some of the ones that came out well from the holiday. There are also some pretty terrible ones on my computer!

They were all stunning, but my favorite is the Rue des Bouchers. Looks like you got a great camera Nienna! We'll have to put Brussels on our list. We've been to Brugge (Bruges?) but not Brussels.

Mmmm, the chocolate! I remember it being everywhere in Brugges too. That and lace. I used to work for a Belgian company BC (before children) and whenever people would come over from there, or someone here would go there, they'd always bring me a box of chocolate.
