The Third Person Thread - Part the first

Toothy drops by and is both stunned and delighted to see so many peeps testing the thread out. Yay!

She promises Penfold that she's not really related to the Auditors of Reality (mwahahaha... ahem). Just explaining how the thread used to work. After all, she notes, the Auditors prefer the second person - now there's another thread possibility... hmmm maybe not yet! *cue Twilight Zone music*

Nice plants, Will! Those will really brighten up the place. Toothy can still smell the fresh paint and the new leather sofas. She throws a couple of cushions onto the sofa and sits back - yup, they'll do nicely.

Oh and, yes, this is a thread where you can chat to each other, too.

Sitting back and stroking his chin, Mongo Gutman wonders whether any of the new members have seen a figurine of a black bird on their travels.

Joanne bounces into the nice new shiney thread! It and it feels like home

But she is also wondering like ((((Aunty)))) where Patrick is with the removal van...
Oh and Aunty don't know if you caught it on the last thread but a parcel should hopefully be winging it your way in a week or two

Joanne is happy to see some new faces in the third person thread as she is really looking forward to getting to know everyone.

Joanne has some news... She got a job!!!!! She wonders how she will cope with college, a job and trying to fit family life and a social life in with that.

She is off now for some much needed sleep and hopes she wasn't the first to slip up but before she goes she leaves some hot chocolate and cookies for everyone.

Tonyblack extends his congratulations to Joanne.

Impy assures Batty that it is perfectly acceptable to talk to others. The third person thread in its previous incarnation was basically just a social thread to chat about whatever we felt like discussing. It was mostly just light conversation and nonsense. Impy wonders if others will agree with her description.

Impy shudders at the mention of a second person thread. She seems to recall that there was one on the other board at one point, but can’t recall exactly. As she spends a significant amount of time convincing young college students that they may not use the second person, Impy is a little afraid of that particular perspective.

Coughing quietly, Impy notes that Joanne has used the “forbidden pronoun.” So, those who might be new to the third person thread can see that it happens quite regularly. Impy then looks around cautiously to make sure Fiendish isn’t about before offering Joanne a tasty beverage with an umbrella in it to celebrate the new job.

Impy thinks perhaps someone might want to check to be sure that Thumpy is not trapped beneath a mountain of empty pizza boxes and chocolate wrappers at the old place. That could easily happen if one started shifting things around over there.

After putting on her tool belt, Impy begins to install the disco ball that has been brought over from the old thread. Things need to be prepared so that the atmosphere will be appropriately festive the next time Toothy decides to celebrate.

Hangs her head in shame and waits to be carted off to the Dungeon Dimension, she knew she'd be the first but hey ho at least Joanne took the pressure off for everyone else.

She thanks everyone for the congratulations and thanks Impy for the drink and quickly grabs it before Fiendish appears.

On account of being vague Aunty often has to have things explained to her. She has been wondering if MongoGutman is using a code for something she just doesn't get.

(((((Joanne))))) Aunty did see your message over at the HC board, but she keeps getting caught up lurking around the threads over here, so hasn't been back to reply yet She will look out for said package!

Aunty is sure that she didn't know that Joanne was at college and now a job?! Aunty thinks that is fantastic news and wishes Joanne all the very best with the increasingly busy time ahead!

Aunty thinks Impy put the essence of the third person thread very nicely there and hopes everyone here jumps straight in. She concurs that there was a second person thread at the HC board, but it was a step too far for most, unlike speaking in the third person, which is perfectly acceptable behaviour

Of course, not to be outdone by flowers and disco balls Aunty hauls in a few beanbags complete with retro orange and brown corduroy covers. She thinks a bright red shag-pile carpet and some shiny teal curtains would be a nice touch too.

Aunty tells Danny B that up until now she had not been hearing third person voices in a serial killer tone. But she has been experimenting with hearing them that way and she is freaking herself out just a little.

Pip Looks in at a new thread and is intrigued.
Pip notices the Harper Collins refugees are getting comfortable which is good.

Pip, being the decent nice guy he is (shut up Bouncy,Meer) extends his congratulations to Joanne

Batty wanders in to the room and notices that Joanne has a new job!
Hardly able to contain her excitement, Batty resolves to celebrate with a chocolate liqueur.

But it was only going to be a matter of time, Penfold says on Pip's behalf.
