Aunty hopes Will's spell as the Alligator continues to go well and that Offler is sticking to just eating the sacrifices.

Aunty doesn't have much to report other than she is busy trying to avoid doing a summer school essay. She would go and do it now, but she has just remembered that she has to do the ironing, feed the cats, wash the floors, mend some socks, finish reading a book, have a bath, repoint the brickwork (of her weatherbord house), learn another language (could be gone a loooong time), drench the sheep* and de-frost the automatically de-frosting freezer. Frankly Aunty blames her grandmother who went back to high school in her 60s and said housework never looked so good ;)

* no, she really doesn't have any sheep.

The Goddess sends huggles and warm wishes by return clacks to ((((all)))). :) And will gladly help (((Bonnie))) out by grabbing some dark chocolate immediately!!! :D :P

Come on Aunty, bang away on the keyboard and knock that essay out like nobody's business! The Goddess promises (((Aunty))) TWO cookies and ONE cute cat picture from the innerwebs once Aunty is done! :D Go, Aunty, Go!

The Goddess is all talk, mind you. She has been busy trying to upload several documents to her heid ...
++Out of cucumber error. Reboot geekiverse+++
Unlike Homer and Dotsie and Will, she cannot even remember what she has forgotten in the process. :?:

She will offski now, balancing her heid very carefully so as to not stir up any content that has managed to lodge itself up there. Does anyone have any cucumber slices?

Julie hates to see a friend in need...

She's also says to help yourself to some cheese.

And a lovely melon or two, just to be getting on with.

Julie hopes the ants are happy now.

Toothy breezes in *skippety hop!* OK, what has she mi... What's with the bear? And the suggestive cucumber? Has Toothy come back to the thread after it has been highjacked by aliens?... :?

No, it's OK. Toothy spots some tell-tale Goddessy sparkles. All is right with the world. :D

Putting 2 and 2 together and making 7 (as usual), Toothy wonders if Dotsie's PhD was on the subject of gonorrhea. No! Don't leave, everyone! Toothy hasn't lost her marbles... well, not completely. Just askin'. :D

Toothy had a great weekend, visiting Abingdon to see "Dodger". Before she got to the theatre, she guessed that Mr Briggs would play Sir Robert Peel and, yup, she got that right! He was good in the role although, for Toothy, he will always be Vetinari. ;) The play was good, with much of the storyline included and a solid cast (some lovely roles). Toothy and Mr Totty both agreed that the actor played Dodger in a style very similar to Rodney Trotter. It worked though.

Toothy didn't get to see Sir Terry as he was going to the evening performance. She suspects that a lot of the fans she knows will have gone to that performance. ;)

Grabbing a spare chocolate from the box proffered by Bonnie, Toothy legs it.... Whooooooooosh!

Will is sad he no longer lives close enough to Abingdon to go and watch Pterry-based shows there.

However, Will has read Dodger and thoroughly enjoyed it. If the play is a success, Will looks forward to catching up with it at another venue.

A propos of nothing much, Will has just realised that the Wikipedia page about Pterry also exists in Luxembourgish. 8-) As Will didn't write the page himself, that means that there is at least one other Discworld fan in Luxembourg. Will wonders who it is and if it is someone he already knows.

Will welcomes the Goddess back and is glad other boardies supplied the cucumber. (Will doesn't think "out of cucumber" is an error but a most desirable state of affairs. Still there's no accounting for taste and it would be a boring world if we were all the same. :P)

Will thinks he is probably too innocent to understand Toothy's reference about Dotsie's PhD.

Dotsie's a microbiologist! She just likes to give it a saucy twist ;)

Toothy still chuckles at the memory of Mr Totty's parting comment to Dotsie after last year's DWCon. At the top of his voice and across the hotel foyer he shouts to Dotsie: 'Good luck with the gonorrhea!' - much to the surprise of some unsuspecting other guests.

Toothy's feeling a teensy bit tipsy. The family all went out to celebrate Mr Totty's birthday this evening...hic! Tomorrow they celebrate again. And then on Sunday, they meet up with Cheery Jules. More feasting and fun. :D Weekends are tough! :D

Will agrees with Toothy that weekends are tough. Will has been on a diet since 1 January, aiming to lose 20kg (that's about 3 stone / 42 lbs  ) by the end of the year. However, today Mrs Will passed her French horn exam with a Bien (48 out of 60, just 2 points shy of a Très Bien), so of course Will had to take her out for a meal to celebrate. 8-)

Will is now also feeling a little bit squiffy.

Will doesn't know if his weight stands any chance of getting below 100 kg in the next month. Will hopes so.

Dotsie sends her congrats to Mrs Will, and is pleased for Will - Dotsie is having a spot of bother getting her diet to stick!

The Goddess thanks (((((Julie and Bonnie)))), and tells them the cheese and melons and cucumber have sent the ants in a tizzy. :)

The Goddess says hmm, as Will knows, a certain Luxembourghish Mina-bird is known to flutter around Ankh-Morpork. But ... is it possible, there's a *third* fan lurking somewhere about the Grand Ducky? :o

The Goddess hopes Toothy had a good time meeting up with Cheery Jules. :)

How is everyone doing? The Goddess had recently filled up her head with a muddle of acronyms and is having trouble untying the knots in her tongue. Did you know the BLS-D talks to the FRC over the WAPIF? Remember that the SGM we are talking about here is not the same as the SGM that the GPL team is using. Interestingly, the BAM ... waitaminute, where did everybody go??? :(

She is SO ready to get the weekend started. This has been a looooooooong week (not at all helped by the fact that, the Goddess woke up on Tuesday morning thinking it was Friday). Boo! Was she bummed.

She sends "stay safe" wishes to everyone in the path of the gigantic winter storms headed towards the northeast US of A.

Toothy gasps. "How come this thread has landed on the second page? A brief absence and...and...and..."

She ferrets around in her Mary Poppins style bag and retrieves a fluffy duster, then proceeds to remove cobwebs and dust from around the place. She takes the cushions from the sofa outside and gives them a good pummelling. Out comes the Hoover and the colours of the carpet are restored to their former vibrancy. A quick clean of the crystal and glitter and everything's back to normal again. Phew!

It has been a hectic and stressful time for Toothy. Work is very busy and there is some unpleasantness to come which she's not looking forward to but has to deal with, she knows, or things won't get better.

She's been travelling, too, and this has provided some of the better times. Getting to know certain colleagues out of work has been a delight and confirmed her good opinion of them. :)

Elder Toothlet has been quite stressed, trying (so far unsuccessfully) to find a placement for her 3rd university year. Competition is fierce, with fewer companies offering placements but more students seeking them. (Her's was the year in which everyone took up uni places rather than defer to avoid the higher fees that kicked in the following year). Poor thing has been in quite a state about it all. :(

Younger Toothlet, thankfully, is in a good place at the moment, having just spent a week freezing her butt off in New York on a school trip. "In our day", mutters Toothy, "we were lucky to go as far as the French coast!" Toothlet had a good time, although a scary moment occurred when doors on the lifts of the Empire State Building initially got stuck on the 82nd floor...

Toothy stretches. "Time to go and see what else has been going on around the board" she says.

Will gazes in wonderment at the shiny clean carpets and at the newly pummelled sofa. (Will wonders if Toothy found the 2 euro piece he lost down there last month. :D)

Will hopes that Toothy's work unpleasantness is soon over and things get better soon. :)

Will's work is OK (he hasn't had to be Alligator recently) but everyone is wondering when the new boss will come, and is afraid that whoever it is will be less easy to work for than the lovely Acting Boss we now have.

Will's No 3 son is at the same stage at uni as Elder Toothlet, and is not too sure how well he did at some of his exams after Xmas (actually, he is quite sure how badly he did... ), so it will be nail-biting retakes in the summer again... (where's that head-banging smiley when you need it).

On the plus side, Will and Mrs Will have joined a new choir. That is to say Will has joined as a tenor (Will is really a baritone but then so are most choir tenors :P ) and Mrs Will has immediately been head-hunted as an alto. It will be quite like old times BC (Before Children). If they can stay the course (lots of rehearsals have to be fitted in around other stuff) there is a concert in May and a singing tour in Germany in October. Should be fun.
