Carrot - Love Him or Hate Him?

The besmirching of Captain Carrot by certain individuals on this site (without naming names, but you know who you are Tony and Jan) is tantamount to blasphemy.

He is the Discworld's one and only true superhero.

So let's see just how far the rot has set in.

The character I don't like is Colon. He's a bully, he shouts at people, he's completely useless and a give him a little bit of power and it goes to his head.

I can't knock what he has done for the Discworld but think they are more interesting characters, he is too good be nice to see him lose his marbles or claim the throne now that would be interesting

I do love Carrot. He really shone in the first couple of watch books. But just because he doesn't have anything else to add, doesn't mean we should hate him! Sir Terry doesn't use him much now anyway.

Did I say I hated him? - NO! He's too bland and boring that's all and not worth a decent emotion like hate or love come to that.

So I voted 'he's OK' - for the record

What I actually said was that he's vital to how the Watch functions (or dysfunctions) despite being a boring great lump of a goody-goody (or words to that effect - I can't get into the other thread to quote for some reason )

I'll agree he's a vital part of the Watch - as in he's the only one with true moral fibre which of course lets all the other misfits' idiosyncracies shine out. So necessary but way too boy scouty most of the time... I inlcude Vimes and Angua as misfits BTW even though they are the movers and shakers because they are both in their own maverick and skewed way unconventional but instinctive cops.
