Aaaarrrgh!! Just spent ages on mine but when I posted it I had to log in again and then my post was gone! Did I write it too slowly?

Oh I know that feeling.

If I'm making long posts like that I tend to highlight it and copy it just in case.

Not that that's any help to you. :(

Using other forums I've lost count of posts I've had scuppered by timeouts - so much so I tend to do longer posts in Word first.

On an earlier post I just knocked the mouse sort-of brushed a button and the post disappeared when page changed and it was a longer one. using a wireless MS one.

Yes it is and for some reason it's okay for Al .And of course movies are an exception

Am not a total fuddy duddy I'm guilty of it myself. I just think people can use swear words a little too readily especially in public places with children around.

I know what you mean Cols - used indiscriminately swearing just makes people seem obnoxious and not terribly intelligent and/or unimaginative. Used as verbal punctuation and in context I've no problem with it - 'Oh dear me' or 'Ouch that hurt' doesn't really cut the mustard when you whang your thumb with a hammer does it?

In front of the children? Not a good idea as it just teaches them bad linguistic habits, although these days you're almost as likely to pick those up the other way...
