I can only conclude that I am a rain god.

Handel's Messiah, over and over and over and over... all three hours (ok, just ALMOST) It is a hard piece to jump into. I have a very good voice. This piece of music with all 53 parts, is so not "jump into happily" having Never heard the entire thing before. It's BAROQUE for small gods sakes. The group has a cd to help with learning the notes, no words tho. And, it is also played at a slower speed than the actual speed. I have been pounding this into my head for 5 weeks, and actually cried when I left practice today. I found a copy of it done by the London Philharmonic Orchestra and Choir, which helps in the annunciation of the words. These is one part which has 47 notes on the vowel sound
e. 47!!! We have a tiny tenor section and aside from 10 of them who know it all inside out, the rest of us, (12 I think) feel overwhelmed. Some parts I have down pat aside from a little timing.
I am scared now, and trying to summon the strength to attend the last rehearsal before the gig. Running away to Tahiti never looked so good.
Aha! So, Bob's yer uncle... very clever.
