Thanks, Penfold, and the food was rather tasty.

We had another dinner out with friends this evening where I had a 'posh' burger with blue cheese which was delicious. So much eating out and so little time.

Boy, we have not posted here for a while.

Here is what our friend from Germany made us for supper on Wednesday night:

First, he fried walnuts, pine nuts, garlic and a bit of pepper,


He made the pesto earlier, when I was at work. Here what the final dish looks like:


We spread a little cream cheese on roti, then spread the pesto and added the nuts.

It's quite different, but I thought it was very good!

That looks good! It's hard to find different meals. We tend to get stuck in a rut.

We let the girls make dinner last night (with a little help). Pancakes with strawberries, kiwi and pineapple, and a couple with M&Ms for the girls.

Happens when you are a parent. We buy Turkish break... ? Flat bread? Pita bread? Those things you can roll up for burritos or kebabs?

Spoon on and spread with spreadable philly cheese, spurt and spread some tomato sort of sauce, then (when we are having a lets make our own pizza's phase) we drag out a tub of "things to go on our pizzas"... olives, grated cheese, shaved roast lamb or beef or salami or bits of chicken breast, pineapple, baby spinach, basil leaves... you know... stuff anyone loves. Make your own to your own taste. And into the oven for a few mins til the cheese melts.

We have "shopping raids" sometimes too.

When you bring all the shopping home..... pack away the cold stuff first..... then RAID THE SHOPPING BAGS and find your own dinner! Good one for fun with a big shop and nooooooooooo not all the time.

After having great breakfasts while away at the spa thing last week, I decided to make Bircher muesli for breckie at home. Well, all can say is nomnomnomnom! Rolled oats, milk, orange juice, Greek yogurt, honey, cinnamon, vanilla, dried cranberries, cashew nuts, apple. (ingredients to suit yourself really). Mmmmmmmm.
