Google Translate mucked it up as usual, but I get enough out of it to know that it means 'Million to one chances crop up nine times out of ten'. :)

Yeah, that's what I put into the translator. I have to admit that when I translated it back it came out as nonsense. :roll:

Sorry meerkat - yes, I used a translator. I think these things have gotten a lot better over the years, but they still have their problems.

I would very much like to learn Russian. I do not think it would be too difficult, having German as my first language.

Huh? There's enough Germans having problems with a language like English - so that your first language is German isn't enough. If you're generally good at languages, though, it might help that one of them is German.
Some of my colleagues speak Russian and even some of them say it is not easy.

Nevertheless, I am interested in learning languages as well and Russian looks interesting.
