I love the story about Ogier Ghiselin de Busbecq who was ambassador to the Ottoman Empire for Ferdinand I, the Holy Roman Emperor. He (probably) introduced the tulip in the Low Countries.

I have that colour growing in my garden! They are so beautiful. They look so good as the sun is going down. They begin to look black then!
