This morning Eugene Lambart left our planet. For those unfamiliar he was an actor puppeteer and a man who knew how to entertain. He has made many TV appearances since the 1960s and since the 1970s has run the famous lambert puppet theatre in Dun Laoighre.
I first saw him introduce a puppet show in his theatre at the age of 4. He made jokes through his white dog one of his most renowned puppets. The experience was one of my life's greatest.
In later life I went to see him many more times and to this day I still have the VCR of my first show. He died aged 82 and is survived by his wife and children and grandchildren.
A final farewell to the one of the finest men to ever grace my city's greasy streets. Rest easy Eugene Lambart.
It is not enough to succeed, others must fail
