Actor, director...
Starred in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang as Dick Van Dyke's dad. Directed Railway Children... and I am sure many other things!

:( Oh how terribly sad. I saw him recently in a DVD of the musical Camelot.

He was a fantastic, talented actor and a lovely generous man who gave people some very happy memories.

He was 83 years old...
And the astonishing thing is ... he was six months younger than Dick Van Dyke ... yet played his dad!!!!

I wonder how long it's going to be before we hear of his death?

Good actor. Very good. Sad, but inevitable. :( We all die in the end.
