At one of the firms where I used to work we used to have The Dead Lottery. Everyone who wanted to play put in a quid and gave the name of the celebrity they expected to pass away over the following week.
If a celebrity did pass away and his / her name was in the draw the person who had the name took the pot.

I know someone who worked in a nursing home where the staff had a weekly sweepstake on which resident would die. Kind of ghoulish, but maybe when you are working with death so much, it doesn't do to take it too seriously.
