Happy birthday Sharlene :D :D
Getting an education was a bit like a communicable sexual disease. It made you unsuitable for a lot of jobs and then you had the urge to pass it on.

Thanks so much for all the birthday wishes. I've had a marvellous day and lovely cards and presents. Tony, the darling man, got me 2 CDs, one is The Very Best of Peter, Paul and Mary and the other is a 2 CD volume of Pete Seeger from a newly found and issued tape of a concert in 1965.

Then, besides a couple of new Kathy Reichs, he got me Q's Legacy, which we've read aloud to each other off and on all day. It's a sort of memoir by Helene Hanff (of 84 Charing Cross Road fame) and derives it's title from the influence of Sir Arthur Quiller-Couch, a professor at Cambridge and one of the great names in 20th century literary criticism.

Thank you to everyone, and especially to my wonderful husband!!!
